GEWURZTRAMINER 'TURCKHEIM' ZIND HUMBRECHT 2022 DESCRIPTION

The Gewurztraminer “Turckheim” from Domaine Zind Humbrecht is a white wine that combines aromatic intensity with the mineral character that distinguishes the area. The winery is located in Alsace and spans an area of 40 hectares of vineyards, with vines that have a significant age and are able to yield positive consequences on the taste and olfactory profile of the final wine. Turckheim captivates as only a Gewurztraminer can, but it also enchants with the charm of sapidity, freshness, and aromas that, on the nose, recall flint and stones. Minerality is indeed the hallmark of the products signed by Zind Humbrecht, which has always worked to enhance the peculiarities of its territory. For this reason, the winery follows a certified biodynamic farming method.

“Turckheim” by Zind Humbrecht is a pure Gewurztraminer coming from different vines with varying ages, averaging around 46 years. The soils here are characterized by a deep minerality given by the stony and limestone. The harvest is done manually and allows for a selection of the bunches at the time of picking. The alcoholic fermentation on the must obtained from pressing the grapes takes place through the action of the indigenous yeasts naturally present on the skins. A few months of resting on its own yeasts makes it ready for bottling.

Zind Humbrecht Gewurztraminer “Turckheim” has a pale and bright straw-yellow color. The aroma is intense and opens like a fan revealing a series of fruity, floral, spicy scents and the mineral notes of flint and silica. On the palate, it confirms the intensity and expansive personality, finely managed by sapidity and freshness. It is decidedly dry, presented in a soft and velvety sip. It represents one of the best expressions of Alsace's winemaking tradition.

When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
