Ippolito 1845's '160 Anni' celebrates the history of the winery through a winemaking technique that gives Gaglioppo great complexity. The best bunches are left to dry on racks until the end of November. After fermentation, the wine is aged for over a year in oak to obtain a soft and pleasant texture. The nose is persuasive, with hints of undergrowth meeting dried violets, sultanas and sweet spices. On the palate, it expresses great structure, with a round and intriguing finish that is very long. Excellent with spiced braised venison or blue cheeses
