Casa Setaro's Aglianico 'Terramatta' comes from ungrafted vines on the sandy slopes of Vesuvius. It ferments in steel after 72 hours of cryomaceration, a technique that allows for maximum extraction of aromas. The nose reveals a 'dark' profile with blackberry, violet and fine liquorice, with light smoky nuances. The palate is intense but velvety, warm, supported by a fine tannic texture. Perfect with red meats and mature cheeses, ideal with grilled sausage
Deep ruby red with slight garnet reflections
Floral and fruity, with notes of violet and berries such as blackberry and currant, hints of liquorice and a smoky finish
Intense and full-bodied, with good structure and soft, velvety tannins
