AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA MAGNUM CASALFORTE 2019 DESCRIPTION

The Amarone from the Castelforte winery represents the label of the most well-known and prestigious red wine of Valpolicella. Although it is a young wine for Valpolicella, it has quickly established itself in international markets for its smooth and seductive profile, very rich and intense. It is produced with the classic grapes of the area, particularly Corvina, Rondinella, and Corvinone, subjected to a drying process, which helps to enrich the fruity aromas, with complex and mature notes of remarkable depth and persistence. It is the result of careful selection in the vineyard and long aging processes in wood, which make it pleasantly soft and satisfying.

The Amarone wine from Castelforte is produced by one of the largest wine-growing realities in the Verona area. The winery is part of the Collis-Riondo group and represents the brand of excellence, offering labels with a typically territorial character. The vineyards of Corvina, Rondinella, and Corvinone are cultivated in the beautiful hilly area of Valpolicella, northwest of the city of Verona. The mild and breezy climate, influenced by the beneficial effects of the nearby Lake of Garda, allows for perfect ripening of the red berry grapes, with rich and intense aromatic profiles. Once the harvest is completed, the most beautiful and healthy bunches are selected and placed to dry in hillside fruit drying rooms until January, in order to lose about half of their weight due to natural dehydration. The dried grapes, which have concentrated sugars and aromas, are fermented slowly in contact with the skins with periodic pump-overs. Before being put on the market, the wine matures for a period of 24 months in oak barrels.

The red Amarone Castelforte is a wine of great structure, rich and complex, particularly loved by those who prefer concentrated and powerful reds. It is an excellent table wine, which should be paired with braised meats, stews, game in sauce, hare in salmi. Visually, it presents a deep and dense garnet red color. The aromatic profile offers aromas of berry jam, cherry in spirits, ripe red plum, hints of oriental spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, noble woods, toasted sensations, and roasting.mature and seductive aromas. The finish is long, harmonious, and very persistent.
