The Anthilia by Donnafugata is a luminous white wine, the first conceived by the historic Sicilian winery, which has revolutionized the local landscape by proposing great wines on a global level. The name evokes that given in Roman times to the city of Entella at the top of the Rocca, the location where this wine is born and which reflects the territory from which it originates. The ancient name by which many enthusiasts in the sector still identify these areas today.
The Anthilia is in line with Donnafugata's idea of communicating the colors and brightness of Sicily to the eyes but also to the palate of those who taste these sublime wines. The vineyards of Catarratto and other local varieties are located between 200 and 600 meters above sea level on clayey-loamy soils. The wine is born from a careful manual selection of the grapes, which are then selected again in the winery thanks to the latest innovations in this regard, followed by a controlled temperature fermentation in steel tanks. The aging is always done in steel for 2 months and subsequently 2 months in bottle.
To the eye, it is warm with its bright straw yellow. Desire for the sea and freedom. On the nose, it expresses fresh sensations of white fruit, citrus, and almond flowers. On the palate, it is mineral, harmonious, very fresh and persistent. It knows how to impose itself. A wine to share, a wine that makes the days lighter.
