Castello di Verduno’s “Monvigliero” Barolo is an intense red wine, aged in barrels for 30 months. Hints of red fruit, spices and cinnamon emerge from a full-bodied, smooth and robust texture, underpinned by a pleasant freshness
The Barolo “Monvigliero” from Castello di Verduno originates from the hill of the same name, at 280 meters above sea level, on vineyards completely exposed to the South. The vineyard's exposure and the soil composition, predominantly white marls, make this microzone one of the best in the entire Barolo territory alongside Cannubi.
It is here that the Barolo “Monvigliero” is born, a Barolo that stands out for its delicate aromas and for the elegance that evolves over time, always offering new sensations and emotions. The harvest of the Barolo “Monvigliero” from Castello di Verduno is manual, while the maceration is carried out with periodic pump-overs for 30 days; we are facing a Barolo Riserva that matures for 30 months in large oak barrels, for 1 month in steel tanks, and for 40 months in bottle before being marketed.
We are looking at a Barolo “Monvigliero” that presents itself to the eyes with a beautiful ruby red color; it offers interesting aromas of red fruit that evolve towards spices, with a pleasant hint of cinnamon. The tannins are soft and appealing, and the structure and freshness are remarkable.
