The Barolo Riserva ‘Cerretta - Vigna Bricco’ by Elio Altare represents excellence in the Piedmont wine landscape, embodying the values of tradition combined with an innovative approach to winemaking. This prestigious red stands out for its origins in the cru of Serralunga d'Alba, a territory particularly suited for the Nebbiolo grape, and for the visionary approach of winemaker Elio Altare, who has introduced innovative winemaking techniques while respecting the characteristics of the terroir.
The cru of Serralunga d'Alba, where the Vigna Cerretta is located, offers optimal conditions for the cultivation of Nebbiolo, with clay-limestone soils and an ideal southeastern exposure. With his expertise, Elio Altare has been able to interpret the peculiarities of this region to the fullest, adopting innovative and advanced production methods, such as reducing planting densities and maintaining low yields per hectare. This allows the vines to concentrate their energies to the maximum, producing grapes of superior quality. The vinification process involves maceration on the skins in temperature-controlled rotary fermenters for 3-4 days, followed by spontaneous fermentation. As for aging, this Barolo spends 24 months in barriques, achieving additional layers of complexity and harmony, with aromas and flavors skillfully integrated.
The Barolo Riserva ‘Cerretta - Vigna Bricco’ by Elio Altare presents itself with an intense ruby red color and garnet reflections, while rich fruity and floral aromas stand out on the nose, enriched by notes of mint and licorice. On the palate, it is a warm, elegant, and well-structured wine, with a long aromatic persistence. Thanks to its complex and enveloping profile, it pairs well with refined dishes from the Piedmontese tradition, such as braised meats and aged cheeses. This Barolo Riserva thus represents the oenological excellence of a unique territory, interpreted with mastery by a producer who combines tradition and innovation to create wines of extraordinary quality.
