Stefano Farina's Barolo 'Tenuta La Traversa' is produced on the family estate in La Morra d'Alba, where the relatively sandy soils are responsible for its great finesse. The nose reveals aromas of dried violets and liquorice, with balsamic hints of pine resin. On the palate, it impresses with its soft tannins, which are tight but smooth, an enveloping structure and a mineral persistence that recalls the calcareous soil of the Langhe. Ideal with red meats such as Barolo braised beef with polenta
