Il Bruciato is among the most symbolic and famous wines of the Guado al Tasso winery, owned by the legendary Antinori family. It is a red wine from the prestigious Tuscan area of Bolgheri, made from a blend of French grape varieties, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Syrah, which reach very high levels of quality in these lands. The name comes from a forest that in the 1700s was completely burned by the local inhabitants as a sign of protest against the noble Della Gherardesca family, who at the time were lords of Bolgheri and prohibited farmers from hunting within it.
This Bolgheri Il Bruciato is produced every year within the Guado al Tasso estate of the Antinori family, located about 80 km southwest of Florence, on the gentle and green hills that surround the ancient village, in a territory with a unique microclimate that alternates good temperature excursions from night to day, allowing the grapes to reach perfect ripeness. The wine "Il Bruciato" is the breath of the wind, the strength of the earth and the human passion, is the demonstration of how these hills generate visual and taste emotions. The selected grapes are brought to the winery where they are destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation and maceration on the skins follow in steel at controlled temperature for about 10-15 days. A portion of the Merlot and Syrah is fermented at lower temperatures to maintain the varietal aromas and typical taste. Malolactic fermentation occurs in steel and finishes in barrique. At the end of this phase, the wines are blended and will mature in barrique for some months, before being bottled and aged in glass for another 4 months.
Il Bruciato Antinori encapsulates, with the innate elegance due to its noble origins, the soul of an ancient terroir. The softness of the breeze's aroma, which caresses Bolgheri and its hills, dresses in the glass with an intense ruby red and emanates a whirlwind of sensations of small red fruits, such as cherry and blackberry, intertwined with hints of sweet spices, accumulated during the passage in wood. On the palate elegance, softness, and balance are the cornerstones of a full and rich sip, with a pleasant roundness. A red that seduces, able to narrate with grace and elegance the aromas of a story made of refinement and success.
