BOLGHERI ROSSO MAGNUM GRATTAMACCO 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Bolgheri Magnum by Grattamacco is a true gem of the Tuscan land, born from the combination of international grape varieties and the Bolgheri territory. It is a Tuscan Bordeaux blend that exemplarily embodies the type and the denomination, becoming known in the world also thanks to an excellent quality/price ratio. It can be considered one of the reference points of the area, a must-pass for being introduced to the wonderful world of Bolgheri Doc, inhabited by illustrious names and labels of great value and quality.

The Bolgheri Grattamacco comes from a skillfully balanced blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Sangiovese, grown in the gentle and prestigious hills of the upper Maremma, a few kilometers from the sea. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand, to be immediately taken to the winery. The alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously, with indigenous yeasts, in wooden vats, and the malolactic fermentation in barriques. The aging involves a stay of 10 months in barrique, which allows the wine to soften and round out, achieving a pleasant, elegant, and balanced profile.

The Grattamacco Bolgheri Rosso displays a deep ruby red color, edged with garnet hues. On the nose, it is a graceful symphony of sensations: sour cherries, plums, and cherries at first, followed by spicy, toasted, and balsamic nuances with pleasant mineral hints. The sip is soft and round, yet fresh and balanced, characterized by an intense but well-integrated tannic structure. It is a successful synthesis of the generosity of the Tuscan land and modern elegance, to be paired with various dishes based on red meat.

When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
