BOLGHERI ROSSO 'RUIT HORA' MAGNUM CACCIA AL PIANO 2021 (CONFEZIONE) DESCRIPTION

The Bolgheri Rosso Magnum "Ruit Hora" from the Caccia al Piano winery is a Tuscan red that originates in the Bolgheri area, in the first hinterland of the Etruscan Coast. It is a Bordeaux blend based on Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. In the sunny lands of the Tyrrhenian coast, international red grape varieties have found a second home and express themselves at high quality levels, with an excellent degree of ripeness and a Mediterranean profile. The wine rests for a long time in barriques, acquiring a soft, seductive, and complex character, with rich, generous fruit and a very harmonious sip.

The “Ruit Hora” is a Bolgheri Rosso Magnum produced in Castagneto Carducci by the Caccia al Piano winery, which has belonged to the Berlucchi family since 2003. The estate is located right next to the Via Bolgherese, which runs parallel to the coast, connecting the villages of Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri. The estate covers a total of about twenty hectares in the first hilly area of the hinterland. Unlike the rest of Tuscany, Bolgheri is not an area for Sangiovese, which expresses itself best in Chianti or in the areas of Montalcino and Montepulciano. The Mediterranean climate of the Costa Toscana, bright, sunny, and always tempered by sea breezes, is perfect for bringing Bordeaux grape varieties to full ripeness, which have also found soils suitable for their needs. Here, the wines express mature, rich, intense notes, making them particularly pleasant and soft, warm, and sunny.

The Magnum "Ruit Hora" Bolgheri Rosso from the Caccia al Piano winery takes its name from the Odi Barbare by Giosuè Carducci, precisely to reinforce the sense of belonging to the territory of Castagneto, the homeland of the famous Tuscan poet. The fermentations of the three grape varieties take place separately, following the different ripening periods, in steel tanks with a maceration lasting about a couple of weeks. The wine matures for 12-15 months in barrique and finishes aging with 6 months in the bottle. In the glass, it has an intense ruby red color. The bouquet expresses notes of small dark berries, spicy notes, aromatic herbs, floral nuances.toasted hints and wood notes. On the palate, it has a good structure, with ripe fruit, rich aromas, a dense but evolved tannic texture. The finish is balanced and harmonious. It is perfect to pair with a roast of red meats, grilled meats, or a mixed grill. Nothing to add, after tasting this Magnum, to the words of Carducci: “O flower of desire, open your chalices.”

When to open
To enjoy it at its best, we recommend you to let the wine 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied red wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can let it rest in the cellar comfortably for 3-4 years
