BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO COL D'ORCIA 2021 DESCRIPTION

The Brunello di Montalcino Col d'Orcia is the symbolic label of the winery, the one that best represents the style of one of the reference producers of the denomination. It is a very traditional and balanced version, made with a selection of grapes from different vineyards, capable of giving an overall idea of the vintage. It is an elegant and mature Brunello, influenced by the Mediterranean nuances of the Sant'Angelo area, which can enjoy the influence of breezes that rise from the Tyrrhenian coast. A bottle that can be enjoyed immediately with pleasure, but will reach full maturity only after several years of aging in the bottle.

The red Brunello di Montalcino Col d'Orcia is produced with grapes from vineyards cultivated in the hilly area of Sant'Angelo, at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level, with a sunny exposure to the south. The vines have been planted with a selection of company clones, isolated for the quality of their grapes. The harvesting operations are carried out manually with a careful selection of the best bunches, which are then further checked in the winery on the sorting table, before starting the vinifications. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature and a maceration on the skins of about three weeks, allowing for a complete and rich extraction. The wine ages for 4 years, of which at least 3 in Allier and Slavonia oak barrels with a capacity of 25, 50, and 75 hectoliters and concludes the aging period with at least 12 months in the bottle.

The Brunello di Montalcino Col d'Orcia wine is a red that very well represents the happy union between a great producer and a particularly suited territory. It appears bright ruby red with slight garnet reflections. The olfactory profile is very elegant and refined, with aromas of marasca, small forest fruits, cherry, delicate spicy hints, floral nuances, and aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub. The taste is intense and deep, with a lively tannic structure, harmonious, ripe, and complex aromas, of great expressive finesse, which close with a fresh and persistent finish. It is a splendid expression of the typical Brunello from the Sant'Angelo area.
