
The Cabernet Sauvignon "Luna Selvatica" from the Piacenza winery La Tosa is a wine that well expresses the vocation of this hilly territory for the production of very interesting wines, even with the most famous international varieties. The famous Bordeaux grape gives a wine with an intense, rich, and aromatically mature and expressive profile. The long aging in wood allows the Cabernet Sauvignon to find its right harmony, with a perfect balance between elegant fruity sensations and refined evolving notes of aging.
The wine "Luna Selvatica" is one of the labels produced by the Pizzamiglio brothers in their estate on the Piacenza hills. La Tosa extends over 19 hectares, cultivated both with the varieties that have been present in the area for centuries and with international grape varieties of more recent introduction, which have proven to adapt very well to the soils and climate of the area. The winery has always aimed to produce a sincere and pure wine, capable of directly expressing the aromatic profile of the grapes and the peculiarities of the terroir. The Cabernet Sauvignon is grown on red soils, composed of clays and silt, in the Ronco and Morello parcels, located at an altitude of about 200 meters. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a temperature of 28-30 °C, with maceration on the skins for about a dozen days. The wine rests for 12 months in barrique of first and second passage and ages for 10 months in the bottle.
The "Luna Selvatica" Cabernet Sauvignon is a intense and structured wine, with a enveloping and rich character, particularly suited for pairing with important red meat dishes. It presents a deep and dark ruby red color. The bouquet offers elegant aromas of small red fruits and delicate spices, with refined balsamic sensations, of licorice and graphite. On the palate, it shows a good body, with a tannic structure of nice thickness, complex aromas, and a harmonious and very persistent finish.
