Carricante 'Versante Est' Eduardo Torres Acosta 2024

Eduardo Torres Acosta's Carricante 'Versante Est' is a volcanic white wine produced on the eastern slope of Mount Etna. Here, the vineyards overlook the Ionian Sea and grow on lava stone terraces exposed to sea winds. Thanks to these characteristics, the east coast of the volcano remains cooler and is considered one of the most suitable areas for the production of Carricante. After alcoholic fermentation, Eduardo carries out a brief maceration on the skins, which broadens the structure of the wine and harmonises the natural verticality of the grape variety. The nose reveals hints of white-fleshed fruit, orange blossom and aromatic herbs with clear iodine notes. The palate is savoury, almost salty, vertical and decisive, with great drinkability. Excellent with sarde a beccafico (sardines stuffed with breadcrumbs and baked

When to open
To enjoy it at its best, we recommend you to let the wine 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can leave it to rest in the cellar for 3-4 years
