CENTESIMINO ANCARANI 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Centesimino wine by Arcani is a harmonious red, in which an excellent taste-olfactory balance reigns. A bottle that comes from an original grape variety, the Centesimino, which is found exclusively in Emilia-Romagna, a particularly aromatic variety that is striking for its perfumes on the nose. By giving space to this grape, Ancarani confirms its commitment to enhancing the territory through criteria of biodiversity and sustainability.

Centesimino comes from the pure use of the grape of the same name, known in the Ravenna area as Sauvignon Rosso. This type is grown using the espalier system in vineyards located on hilly terrain near Oriolo dei Fichi, characterised by a clay loam subsoil. Once the grapes have been selected and brought to Arcani's winemaking facilities, they are destemmed and undergo spontaneous fermentation, thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, in steel containers for 15-20 days. Maturation then follows, lasting 3 months on the fine lees in steel, followed by a further 12 months in large cement casks.

This Centesimino red wine made by Ancarani manifests itself to the eye with a hue reminiscent of ruby red, crossed by slight garnet-coloured veins, evident in the rim. The olfactory spectrum is organised around mainly floral notes, which, minute by minute, give way to more balsamic and fruity hints. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a mouthfeel that is striking for its freshness and delicacy, characterised by a nice tannic grip, lively and vibrant. A bottle that not only appeals to the palate of all lovers of fine reds, but also receives well-deserved acclaim among national critics.

When to open
To enjoy an artisanal wine at its best, we recommend you to let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied red wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can comfortably leave it to rest in the cellar for 3-4 years
