The winery of Damiano Ciolli, heir to a family of winemakers, knows how to fully convey the joy of his choice of life in the vineyard, producing only two labels that symbolize Damiano's labours and will in the work he has been doing with Cesanese di Olevano since 2001. This red considered the winery's entry wine, takes its name from the flower that grows in this countryside and, in fact, traces its fresh, floral aspects.
Cesanese "Silene" represents the face of his tireless desire to show the national scene the incredible uniqueness and pleasantness of this wine, which proves to be clean and exemplary in balance and depth. The vineyard that gives birth to this "Silene" is a small jewel: originally planted in the traditional "conocchia," it was later conducted in a wall row to improve its management. The vineyards have a southern exposure, are situated at an altitude of about 450 meters and rest on red-coloured volcanic soil.
Damiano's idea of concentrating only on the production of pure Cesanese has repaid him for all the sacrifices he has made: this wine, in fact, has immediately demonstrated great character and excellent freshness, highlighting on the nose notes of red field fruits, flowers and an unmistakable mineral trait. Thanks to his work Damiano Ciolli has taken a leading role in that small and courageous group of producers who continue to renew the stylistic model of Cesanese di Olevano, leading it year after year to incredible success.
