CHAMPAGNE GRANDE CUVÉE 173ÈME ÉDITION KRUG DESCRIPTION

The Champagne Grande Cuvée 173ème by Krug is an artist who performs for those who want to hear him, in this case taste him. The Krug family has always wanted to offer a sparkling wine that is the result of great practice and precision; this one in particular represents the basic idea that you don't need a certain hierarchy to be special or first class: Specialness is a quality in itself, you have it in you from the start! This is not just any cuvée, but a Krug champagne. Success, class and nobility: the champagne that has won over the critics, produced by one of the greatest houses in the world.

The Grande Cuvée is the result of alchemy and relationship. It consists of 150 base wines from more than thirteen different vintages, which the house skilfully ages and stores in the magnificent galleries of the cellar. The Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs is accompanied by Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The soul of this wine is the selection of the base wines from the best crus and vintages, which, after blending, give it a distinctive and harmonious body that the house describes as the "purest expression of nature". Fermented again in the bottle according to the Champagne method and matured on the lees for 6 years: In total, the history of this bottle consists of 20 years of intensive ageing and fusion of all the liquid components that make it up. A story that breaks all boundaries!

The Krug Grande Cuvée has a golden yellow colour with a very fine and persistent perlage that appears on the surface. The nose reveals ripe fruit with floral notes and hints of honey, almonds, gingerbread, sweet spices and marzipan. On the palate, it envelops the palate with breadth and depth, an enchanting, sharp freshness emerges, it stings with citrus notes and enhances the more complex sensations thanks to its fine, elegant perlage. Fluid emotion, poetry in bubbles. Uniqueness and variety!
