CHAMPAGNE GRANDE CUVÉE 173ÈME ÉDITION KRUG (PACKAGING) DESCRIPTION

Krug's Champagne Grande Cuvée 173ème Édition is an artist performing for those who want to hear it, in this case taste it. The Krug family has always wanted to propose a bubbly that is the result of great exercise and precision; this, in particular, represents the basic idea that you don't need certain hierarchies to be special or first-rate: specialness is a characteristic in itself, you have it in you right from the start! This is not just any cuvée, but a Krug Champagne. Zero classifications. Success, class and nobility: the bubble that won over the critics, produced by one of the world's greatest houses.

The Grande Cuvée is the fruit of alchemy and relationship. Indeed, it is made up of 150 base wines from over thirteen different years that the Maison skilfully ages and rests in the cellar's splendid galleries. The Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs is accompanied by Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The soul of this wine comes from the selection of base wines from the best crus and vintages which, once blended, give it an unmistakable and harmonious body, defined by the House as "the purest expression of nature". Re-fermented in the bottle according to the Champenoise method and matured on the lees for 6 years: in total, the history of this bottle consists of 20 years of in-depth maturation and amalgamation between all the liquid components that make it up. A tale that transcends all boundaries!

To the eye, the Krug Grande Cuvée is golden yellow, with a very fine and persistent perlage as it emerges on the surface. The nose reveals ripe fruit with floral notes and hints of honey, almonds, gingerbread, sweet spices and marzipan. On the palate, it envelops the palate in breadth and depth, an enchanting, sharp freshness emerges, it stings with citrus hints and enhances the more complex sensations thanks to its fine, elegant perlage. Liquid emotion, poetry in bubbles. Uniqueness and diversity!
