CHAMPAGNE EXTRA BRUT 'LES 7' LAHERTE FRERES DESCRIPTION

The Champagne Extra Brut “Les 7” Laherte Freres is the expression of the 7 historic vineyards of champagne, recovered and saved from extinction to recreate a unique, rich, and fascinating wine. Heirs of a centuries-old winemaking tradition in the Chavot area (but with micro-plots scattered throughout the region), the Laherte brothers have carefully enhanced the ancient grape varieties still present in their lands and have traced back to the origins of champagne, recreating one that reproduces the examples produced 250 years ago. Thus, the Extra Brut “Les 7” is born.

The grape varieties used for this Champagne Extra Brut “Les 7” are, in different percentages: Fromenteau, Arbanne, Pinot Nero, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Meunier, Petit Meslier. The vines are rooted in a clayey and calcareous soil, with a chalky subsoil and the presence of schists. In the cellar, the grapes undergo soft pressing and only the first and best juices are selected for fermentation, which takes place in barrels of at least 10 years. The blend includes the use of wine produced with a reserve from previous vintages (starting from the first harvest of 2005), according to the Solera Method.

previous (starting from the first harvest of 2005), according to the Solera Method.

The Champagne Extra Brut “Les 7” is a champagne with a clear and decisive profile, with precise and well-defined aromas. On the nose, it evokes intense hints of exotic fruit, orange, brioche. The sip is fresh and mineral, juicy, but also complex and deep. A robust and unique character, inimitable, born from an extraordinary combination and the fascinating idea of the Laherte brothers.
