Chardonnay Toros 2024

The Chardonnay from the Toros winery is an intense and rich version of the famous Burgundy grape. It is a label that interprets very well the combination of the Collio terroir and the grape, enhancing the fragrant notes of the fruit and the typical saline and mineral connotation of the wines produced in this corner of Friuli. The high-quality grapes and careful vinification allow for a full appreciation of the best varietal characteristics of the grape, with soft and persistent fruity aromas and remarkable taste length. It is a wine very suitable for gastronomic pairings with flavorful and elaborate seafood dishes or with delicate-flavored white meats.

The white Chardonnay by Franco Toros is born in a wonderful territory that has always been very suited for the cultivation of white grape varieties, not only indigenous but also international. The temperate climate and the soils made up of limestone marls and sandstones, rich in minerals, are perfect for quality viticulture. The Chardonnay grapes come from vineyards cultivated in the locality.Novali, in the beautiful hilly area of Cormons. The harvest is done manually towards the beginning of September, and the best bunches are gently pressed to extract only the free-run juice. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, and before being put on sale, the wine matures for a few months until it reaches the right expressive harmony.  

The Chardonnay wine, made by the Friulian winery Toros, is a white that faithfully and authentically represents the characteristics of the Collio area. Chardonnay, in fact, is a particularly versatile and plastic grape, capable of interpreting very well the personality of the places where it is cultivated. In appearance, it presents a light yellow color with slight greenish reflections. Elegant and intense, it offers aromas of citrus, fragrant white-fleshed fruit, hints of pineapple, peach, and notes of tropical fruit.  The palate is savory, with pleasantly ripe, juicy, and rich fruit, perfectly balanced by a very fresh finish.
