
The Chateauneuf Du Pape Rouge from Domaine de la Graveirette is an impressive wine produced by an iconic biodynamic winery in the area, on the edge of the Plateau de la Crau. It is almost pure Grenache, with about a tenth of the blend dedicated to Syrah, which adds colour and spicy notes. The nose reveals red fruit and dark spices, with a touch of Mediterranean scrub and a very peppery finish. On the palate, it is warm and enveloping, with silky tannins and a savoury vein. Pair with game stews, such as hare civet with black olives, or Provençal goat's cheeses
Deep ruby red
Initially red fruits such as cherry, followed by rosemary and thyme, with a spicy finish of liquorice and black pepper
Very warm, with an imposing structure but fresh and velvety, savoury finish
