From the sun-kissed hills of Tuscany emerges a wine unlike any other: the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from Castello di Meleto. This bottle encapsulates not only the taste of tradition and excellence but also the bold and captivating character of a territory rich in history and beauty. With its intense red color and label celebrating the essence of Castello di Meleto, each sip is a sensory journey that will transport you directly to the heart of the Tuscan countryside.
In the vineyards of Casi, San Piero, and Poggiarso, the rigor and passion of the winemakers merge to create a unique experience, the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from Castello di Meleto. With extreme care in vine management and grape selection, each cluster is a treasure harvested exclusively by hand, ensuring the utmost quality and authenticity. Once in the cellar, the grapes are processed with the same dedication, with careful selection also on the sorting table. From alcoholic fermentation to maturation in oak barrels, every phase of the production process is guided by the pursuit of perfection and balance, which is then reflected in the glass. The duration of fermentation is not standard but evaluated by the winemaker on a case-by-case basis; what is regular, however, is aging in large barrels of 50 and 30 hl and the subsequent maturation period of 27 months. The final step is aging in the bottle for a minimum of 6 months, contributing to creating a balanced and characterful wine.
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from Castello di Meleto will greet you with powerful and rich notes, with spicy and sweet aromas, accompanied by hints of ripe red fruit and lavender. Once tasted, the structure supported by lively yet velvety tannins will provide a sensation of great persistence and balance. Thanks to its freshness, this wine pairs magnificently with dishes of meat with good fattiness, but it also proves excellent when paired with soft or medium-intensity aged cheeses.
