Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 'Vigna Trebbio' from Castello di Meleto is a celebration of Sangiovese at its finest. Sourced from the Trebbio cru in Tuscany's renowned Meleto sub-zone, this wine embodies the rich biodiversity of the region with its velvety texture and flavour. After slow maturation in French oak barrels, this Chianti has an inviting ruby red colour and aromas of ripe red fruit, spices and aromatic herbs, making it the ideal accompaniment to savoury meat dishes and medium-aged cheeses.
In the heart of the Meleto subzone, the Trebbio vineyard reveals its timeless beauty, creating a masterpiece like the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 'Vigna Trebbio'. Here, the vines of Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, and Colorino stand proudly, intertwining their roots with the millennia-old history of Castello di Meleto. This vineyard, a true CRU, is the result of the passion and care of the winemakers who have sought to preserve the rich biodiversity of the minor varieties, giving Chianti Classico a new dimension of taste and complexity. The label of 'Vigna Trebbio' is not only a symbol of excellence but also a tribute to the tradition and generous nature that characterize this land.
In the rows of the Trebbio vineyard, magic comes to life with the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione of Castello di Meleto. Here, every grape cluster is a promise of authenticity and quality, carefully selected and loved by the winemakers of Castello di Meleto. From destemming to fermentation at controlled temperature, each phase of the production process is a tribute to tradition and craftsmanship. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine remains in contact with the skins for about 15-20 days, followed by racking into cement tanks to facilitate decantation and where fermentation will begin. Following this, after a slow maturation of 27 months in 50 hl French oak barrels, the wine reveals its true essence, ready to captivate the most refined palates with its intense aromas and unmistakable taste.
Tasting the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 'Vigna Trebbio' is an experience that engages all the senses. Its brilliant purple color, with garnet reflections that intensify with aging, enchants and heralds an emotion that will surprise. The enveloping aromas of ripe red fruit, marasca, chalk, and aromatic herbs capture the sense of smell, while in the mouth, they reveal themselves with surprising fullness and freshness. It is a wine that, when paired with the right dishes, such as meat with good fat content or aged cheeses, unleashes all its flavor, becoming a true work of art, ready to give you moments of pure pleasure and satisfaction.
