Montecalvi's Chianti Classico comes from the vineyard of the same name. Sangiovese is blended with a small amount of Canaiolo and Canina Nera, a traditional addition in Chianti to give colour and fruitiness. A quarter of the grapes are whole clusters and macerate for a full 90 days, resulting in a decidedly extractive Chianti. The nose offers notes of cherry and violet with hints of black pepper, while the palate is fresh, balanced and savoury. It pairs perfectly with pappardelle with wild boar ragù or grilled meats
Bright ruby red with garnet hues
Aromas of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, violet flowers and a spicy touch of black pepper and cinnamon
Balanced, fresh and savoury, with fine tannins and a persistent finish
