CHIANTI RUFINA 'I DOMI' I VERONI 2023 DESCRIPTION

Chianti Rufina, "I Domi" from the I Veroni winery, is the territory's classic red wine in its most prestigious version, the result of a true estate cru. It is a label that synthesizes the excellent quality of the grapes, savoir-faire and long and careful ageing. The end result is a great red that expresses the typical character of Sangiovese from the Rùfina area, among the most vocated in the Chianti region. It possesses a remarkable gastronomic vocation, suggesting excellent pairings with first courses with meat and game sauces or with roasts and noble poultry on the spit.

"I Domi" is a Chianti Rùfina from the winery I Veroni that comes from a blend made with a majority percentage of Sangiovese, supplemented by a small share of Canaiolo Nero and Colorino, two local indigenous grape varieties that have always been part of Chianti wines, especially to give colour. It is a single vineyard, with grapes that come exclusively from the "I Domi" vineyard, a particularly vocated plot, which is located in Pianottolo, in the municipal area of Pontassieve. The vineyard is cultivated at an altitude of about 250 meters above sea level, with sunny south- and southwest-facing exposure. After the harvest, fermentation is carried out, using only indigenous yeasts, in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with maceration on the skins for a couple of weeks. The wine then matures for a period of 12-14 months in Slavonian oak barrels and is aged in bottles for 6 months before release.

The red Chianti Rùfina "I Domi" I Veroni is a wine that expresses all the excellence of a great terroir, famous for centuries for its great wines. In the glass, it is ruby red in colour with light violet reflections. Intense and elegant, it expresses a bouquet marked by aromas of ripe cherries, small red berries, currants, morello cherries, delicate hints of spice, underbrush and herbs. The palate has a dense but ripe tannic texture that is well integrated with the body of the wine, enveloped by rich, ripe fruit aromas that anticipate a harmonious, fresh, savoury and persistent finish.

When to open
To enjoy an artisanal wine at its best, we recommend you to let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied red wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
