Collio Bianco Edi Keber 2022

The Collio Bianco by Edi Keber is one of the most representative whites of the entire denomination: Friulano, Malvasia Istriana, and Ribolla Gialla aged in cement tanks. COLLIO BIANCO EDI KEBER 2022 DESCRIPTION

Edi Keber Collio Bianco represents a purely artisanal expression at the quality peak of the denomination. It is a blend of the three most emblematic indigenous grape varieties of the territory: Friulano, Malvasia Istriana, and Ribolla Gialla. Driven by the passion and enthusiasm of those who love their land and their work, Edi Keber and his son Kristian cultivate according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture with one goal in mind: to show the whole world the noble winemaking attitude of the Zegla hill, on the border between Italy and Slovenia. The entirety of the grapes from the 12 hectares of Keber vineyards is destined for this unique, superlative label.

The Collio Bianco by Edi Keber is made from a blend of Friulano (70%), Malvasia Istriana (15%), and Ribolla Gialla (15%), grown following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The vines are located in the cru Zegla on soils rich in ponka (also called flysch), a peculiar type of soil made up of alternating layers of marlcalcareous and sandy. After harvesting, the bunches are vinified entirely in cement tanks, where the wine matures for over a year before bottling and market release.

In the glass, the Friulano wine Collio Bianco from winemaker Edi Keber shows a beautiful bright straw yellow color. Intriguing and complex is the olfactory range, characterized by intense fruity and floral descriptors of white peach, cedar, and magnolia that blend with pleasant hints of almond and vivid mineral sensations. Savory and juicy taste, soft and salty, with a warm and notably long finish. An artisanal white that is very versatile in food-wine pairing, an ideal choice with dishes from both land and sea.
