The Crozes-Hermitage 'Les Pends' from Domaine des Entrefaux is an intense but measured white wine, grown on silty-clay and marl soils. The winery cultivates vines that are on average quite old, some reaching fifty years of age! The grapes are harvested from the southern slope of the Mercurol hill and, when they reach the winery, they undergo whole bunch pressing to preserve their aromas as much as possible. This is followed by a long ageing process in oak and steel, always on fine lees, to give structure and roundness. The nose reveals white flowers, ripe citrus fruits and light notes of almond, while the palate is broad, taut and savoury. Suitable for fish in sauce or white meats such as chicken in cream sauce
Intense straw yellow with golden reflections
Intense on the fruity side, with orange and lemon, then peach and delicate hints of honeysuckle, almond finish
Full and round but very balanced with a pleasant savoury texture
