Tornatore’s Etna Rosso ‘Contrada Calderara’ is an elegant and complex wine from the northern slopes of Mount Etna, in the municipality of Randazzo. It is made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes grown using the traditional Etna bush-trained method. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in concrete vats, before being aged in oak barrels for over a year. The bouquet is distinctive, with notes of red fruits, hints of musk and subtle spicy undertones. On the palate, it is full-bodied and balanced, with soft tannins and a savoury finish that lingers. It pairs naturally with Sicilian-style roast pork loin
A pale ruby red
Full-bodied, with hints of cherry and morello cherry, notes of wild blackberries and undergrowth, and subtle spicy notes of black pepper and cloves
Complex and well-structured, with silky tannins and a very long, briny finish
