Tornatore’s Etna Rosso ‘Contrada Trimarchisa’ is a refined interpretation of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio. The grapes come from the vineyard that gives the wine its name, situated on the northern slope of Mount Etna in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in truncated-conical wooden vats, whilst ageing occurs in oak barrels for 18 months. The bouquet opens with notes of dark blackberry fruit, with balsamic hints, earthy undertones and hints of sweet spices on the finish. The palate is enveloping and warm, with fine tannins and a savoury, lingering finish. Perfect paired with roast lamb with Mediterranean herbs
Ruby red with violet hues
Rich, with hints of black mulberry and black cherry, balsamic notes of eucalyptus, earthy undertones and a hint of nutmeg on the finish
Full-bodied and flavourful, with subtle, well-integrated tannins
