ETNA ROSSO PIETRADOLCE 2024 DESCRIPTION

The Etna Rosso by Pietradolce is one of the most sincere expressions of Nerello Mascalese grown on the slopes of the Sicilian volcano. We are on the North side at an altitude of 800 meters where the fire of the lava stone contrasts with the frost of the Etna peaks. The vines are trained as bush vines on large terraces that dominate the natural and fascinating landscape of the volcano. The grapes are carefully and passionately selected from the Solicchiata district before being transported to the winery to begin the journey that will transform them into one of the most exciting wines in the Italian wine scene.

The Etna Rosso by Pietradolce is pressed slowly and macerated for 18 days on its skins to give the wine young and precious red hues. The wine rests for about 3 months in large barrels of lightly toasted French oak to impart light and sweet spicy notes, which complete and enrich an elegant aromatic profile given by hints of berries combined with more Mediterranean tones. On the palate, there is a dynamic finesse and a body balanced by vigorous tannins and cheerful freshness. The Etna Rosso is a versatile wine that enhances the flavors of Sicilian cuisine. It perfectly accompanies both structured and less structured first courses, but it can also stand out as the star with red meats and game.

When to open
To enjoy it at its best, we recommend you to let the wine 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied red wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can safely let it rest in the cellar for 4-5 years
