Etna Rosso Sciàre dell'Alba is a rich and harmonious red wine made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes and aged 24 months in French oak barrels. The nose expresses notes of berry jam, aromatic herbs, underbrush and sweet spices, while the palate delivers a soft, fresh, tannic, long-persistent sip. Try it with savory meat and fish dishes
Etna Rosso Sciàre dell'Alba is an excellent example of wine crafted from Nerello Mascalese and Cappuccio grapes, cultivated manually and in organic conversion. The producer, Elisabetta Abrami, initiated the 'Scìare dell’Alba' project alongside the Urzì family, a seafaring generation hailing from the Gulf of Etna in Mascali, harnessing the magic of this place bathed in the foams of the Mediterranean Sea.
Sciàre dell’Alba Etna Rosso distinguishes itself through its vineyards, located between 500 and 700 meters above sea level on the eastern slope of Mount Etna. The elevation and proximity to the sea contribute to a marked temperature range. Harvesting takes place in October, with the grapes undergoing steel vinification with temperature control and a maceration period of approximately 12-15 days. Maturation occurs in 30-hectoliter French oak barrels for 24 months, in contact with fine lees, followed by an additional year of bottle aging. These practices reflect a commitment to producing a high-quality, organic wine with a high concentration of aromatic substances.
Etna Rosso Sciàre dell'Alba presents itself with an intense ruby red color. The fruity aroma with notes of berries and a touch of spicy herbs makes the olfactory experience unique. The taste is balanced and fresh, exhibiting good softness and tannicity with a long persistence. These characteristics make it ideal for pairing with elaborate meat-based first and second courses. The minerality and freshness of this wine offer an authentic expression of the Etna territory, affirming its identity and connection to tradition. A wine that encapsulates the essence of the Sicilian region and the craftsmanship that transforms it into an enological masterpiece.
