The Fiano di Avellino 'Refiano' from Tenuta Cavalier Pepe is a fresh and elegant white wine from Campania. The grape variety was formerly called 'Vitis Apicia' due to bees' natural attraction to its sweet scent. It comes from vineyards at 500 metres above sea level between Lapio Montefredane and Candida on marly and calcareous soils. Manual harvesting, soft pressing and low-temperature fermentation precede ageing on fine lees. The nose reveals notes of candied fruit, hints of chamomile, hints of Mediterranean herbs and iodine notes on the finish. The palate is fresh and balanced, easy to drink, with an elegant structure and a finish defined by a lively sapidity. It pairs naturally with a dish of Neapolitan-style mussels
