FLORS DI UIS VIE DI ROMANS 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Flors di Uis from the Vie di Romans winery is a intense and aromatic white wine produced in Mariano del Friuli, in the province of Gorizia, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. This expression is obtained from a blend of Malvasia Istriana, Riesling Renano, and Tocai Friulano grapes sourced from the Boghis, Ciampagnis, and Vie di Romans vineyards located at an altitude of about 29-34 meters with various exposures. The vines, which have an average age of about 25 years, are trained on trellises using the guyot pruning method and spurred cordon on soils rich in skeleton characterized by reddish clayey-silty soils due to the presence of iron oxide. The winery is a family-run business, owning about 60 hectares of vineyards, currently managed by Gianfranco Gallo, who through rigorous and bold viticultural choices, combined with careful oenological interpretation, has established a unique and highly personal quality style.

The Flors di Uis from Vie di Romans is produced with carefully selected grapes that are entirely hand-harvested in the first half of September. The bunches, upon reaching the winery, are destemmed and subjected to a brief cold maceration before being pressed and undergoing alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel containers at a controlled temperature of about 16-19 °C for at least 18-22 days. Subsequently, the wine is aged for at least 8 months in stainless steel containers on its own lees, before being bottled and continuing its maturation in the bottle for an additional 10 months before being released for sale.

The Vie di Romans Flors di Uis presents itself with a beautiful deep golden yellow color. On the nose, intense aromas of yellow fruit and tropical fruit appear, including mango, lychee, and passion fruit, floral notes of rose and linden, citrus hints of orange, and spicy notes of cloves and sweet spices. On the palate, it is full, warm, and enveloping, characterized by a good body and pleasant freshness, at times savory. This white from the Vie di Romans winery is a deep, soft, and juicy wine that impresses with its seductive elegance.

When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
