The Saten is one of the flagship products of Enrico Gatti's winery, a winemaker by passion even before profession, who in 1972 chose to leave his job as a building contractor to plant the first hectare of vineyard on land rented from the noble Pasini family of Brescia. Since then, the cultivated hectares have grown to 17, and the company has experienced substantial enhancement, with the planting of new vineyards and a threefold expansion of the winery.
Following a guiding principle aimed at enhancing the typicality of Franciacorta, Enrico Gatti began producing strongly characterized wines, capable of highlighting the different personalities of the originating soils: proof of this is the meticulous varietal selection applied in the vineyard and the adoption of low environmental impact cultivation systems.
The Saten fully reflects these parameters, distinguishing itself each year among the wines of the same category in the main industry guides. Coming exclusively from a blend of 100% Chardonnay and vintage, the Saten is a silky wine of great finesse, characterized by a pronounced freshness, which is accompanied by notes soft and fragrant, while the citrus and spicy accents engage the palate in a very persistent finish.
The Saten by Enrico Gatti is thus appreciated alongside tasty appetizers, thanks to its freshness and minerality, but it also manages to impress in pairing with a full meal, thanks to the complexity of its aromas.
