The Franciacorta Rosé Millesimato 1701 is born in Lombardy in the heart of Franciacorta, precisely in Cazzago San Martino in the province of Brescia. The winery is owned by two brothers who, driven by their passion for the world of oenology, purchased the agricultural company from the Counts Bettoni Cazzago with the intent to produce quality wines without forgetting tradition. The name “1701” comes from the first vintage of a wine produced from the “Brolo”, an ancient vineyard protected by walls dating back to the XI century.
The pure Pinot Nero grapes of the Franciacorta Rosé Millesimato 1701 come from the “Collina” vineyard, which is favorably exposed to sunlight, a condition that enhances the richness of anthocyanins in the grapes for a perfect maceration on the skins. The morainic soils with deep skeletons impart mineral notes to the wines, with deposits of clay and silt more on the surface. The vineyards overlook the beautiful Lake Iseo, whose influence ensures mild temperatures in summer and winter, perpetuating an excellent ripening of the grapes. The vines are entirely cultivated under biodynamic practices, a choice that has contributed to creating a favorable and respectful ecosystem for the raw material. The harvest is manual; it follows a brief maceration on the grapes and fermentation with indigenous yeasts; aging on the lees for a minimum of 30 months.
The Franciacorta Rosé Millesimato 1701 presents itself in the glass with an antique pink color and brilliant reflections; its perlage is fine and pleasantly persistent. On the nose, lively aromas of red fruits are perceived, with floral sensations and slight toasted notes on the finish; on the palate, it is crunchy, fresh with a good dose of mineral notes with a balanced finish that resists briskly, inviting to drink. It is recommended to pair with grilled fish dishes, but also raw; interesting with fresh cheeses and with pizza. A pleasant wine for fresh summer aperitifs in the company of lifelong friends or for fish barbecues by the sea with a product that has unexpected sensations that express the potential of a land that provides great wines looking towards the future.
