The Friulano from Toros is produced in the Collio Friulano area, always considered an ideal zone for white wines of exceptional quality. Since the beginning of the last century, the Toros family has cultivated the land precisely located between Friuli and Slovenia, covering an area of about 10 hectares. Franco Toros is now at the helm of the family business, having inherited the passion for this world from his father Mario: always in symbiosis with nature, he has managed to find the right formula to accommodate the natural rhythms of growth and development of the plants and the raw material. The future is in the hands of his three daughters Eva, Cristina, and Erika, who are already fully engaged in the family business.
The lands where the Friulano from Toros grows are characterized by an uninterrupted succession of hills, exposed to the sun for most of the year, a condition that ensures excellent ripening of the grapes among the rows. The climate is ideal: significant temperature variations between day and night, the chain of the Giulian Prealps protects the rows from cold winds from the north, ensuring mild winters and cool summers; the soil is composed of stratified marl and sandstone with a good presence of minerals that excellently nourish the soil. Harvest takes place in early September; in the winery, the grapes are gently pressed; it ages for 7 months in steel.
The color of the Friulano from Toros is a straw yellow with intense and bright reflections; the bouquet of aromas recalls almond, pineapple, and ripe white-fleshed fruits like pear and peach, combined with smoky wood aromas. On the palate, it is full, elegant, and enveloping with a fresh and mineral finish that balances the overall structure. It pairs excellently with shellfish and mollusks in seasoning for first courses; interesting also with fresh cow's milk cheeses. Perfect for dinners with lifelong friends by the sea to enjoy the genuine flavors of a border land.
