The Furore Bianco by Marisa Cuomo is the symbol of a heroic viticulture, practiced in the geographically rugged areas of the Amalfi Coast, in tiny patches of land torn from the mountains, rocks, and sea, where each harvest is an act of toil and love. The Marisa Cuomo winery is located in the town of Furore, 500 meters above the sea. The cultivated vineyard area extends over 10 hectares, of which 3.5 are owned. The soil is made up of dolomitic limestone rocks, with vines mainly trained on pergolas and often planted on vertical rocky walls. These terraces, with their stunning scenic value, boast an almost perfect solar exposure and benefit from the favorable influences of the proximity to the sea.
To the charm of the Furore territory, dominated by the geometry of the over 80-year-old vineyards, we must add the evocative cellar carved into the rock that houses the aging barriques, where natural freshness and humidity best govern the aging of Marisa Cuomo wines. Thus, the Furore Bianco is born in this terroirwith inimitable geological and pedoclimatic characteristics, the Furore Bianco is a traditional blend of Falanghina (formerly called Biancazita) and Biancolella, two native grape varieties of the area traditionally vinified together, aged in only steel for 4 months. This unique territory, overlooking a fjord carved by the Schiato River, was the setting for the film "L'Amore", shot in 1948 by Roberto Rossellini.
The Marisa Cuomo Furore is characterized by a long maceration that enhances its aromatic bouquet. It presents a straw-yellow hue that reflects in the glass with great brightness. It is a fresh, fleshy, and balanced expression, but also intense and complex, capable of evoking the typical scents of the Mediterranean landscape from which it comes. The olfactory profile is painted with light tones, where strokes of citrus, white flowers, and nuts provide a backdrop to the classic and pleasant sensations of Mediterranean scrub. A sip that strikes and is unforgettable: a concentrate of sun, sea, and earth!
