GEWURZTRAMINER 'RUZEL' RADIZ GIRLAN 2024 DESCRIPTION

The Gewürztraminer "Ruzel" by Radiz is born from the collaboration between Callmewine and Girlan, a historic winery in Alto Adige, with the aim of creating an innovative and sustainable wine. Spicy, floral, and deep, “Ruzel” comes from the small root that holds the scent of its origin and transforms it into an aromatic embrace. "Ruzel" is also the authentic spirit of Alto Adige, but with a modern and traditional taste, the result of careful work both in the vineyard and in the winery.

The grapes for the Radiz Gewürztraminer "Ruzel" come from the most suitable areas of Cornaiano, Egna, and Mazzon, where the cool and sunny climate, combined with clay soils, creates the ideal conditions for this aromatic grape variety. The Girlan winery, which collaborates on the Radiz project, manages over 200 hectares of vineyards in the best areas of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina, where grape selection is carried out with meticulous care. After manual harvesting, the grapes undergo a short cold maceration and whole cluster pressing, to maximize the preservation of fruit and aromaticity. The free-run must is then sent for fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature controlled. The aging lasts about six months in steel tanks on the fine lees, a process that enriches the complexity of the wine without altering its freshness.

The "Ruzel" Gewürztraminer presents itself visually with an intense straw yellow color with golden reflections, anticipating the richness of its bouquet. On the nose, the wine seduces with a intensely aromatic and enveloping profile, where notes of rose petal and lychee stand out, accompanied by hints of ripe exotic fruit such as passion fruit. On the palate, the sip is soft and velvety, structured and rich, but balanced by a vibrant freshness. This wine pairs beautifully with spicy dishes such as a vegetable curry.

Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
