GEWURZTRAMINER 'SELIDA' TRAMIN 2024 DESCRIPTION

The Gewurztraminer “Selida” from the Tramin winery is the essence of the Termeno territory. This is where the winery is located, driven by the tireless work of the 300 winemakers that make up the group. In homage to these agricultural realities, often characterized by their small size, the name “Selida”, which means “small farm”. The total of 260 hectares of vineyards are spread across the municipalities of Termeno, Egna, Ora, and Montagna, each able to tell the quirky personality of Gewurztraminer. “Selida” is the most classic and faithful version of the traditional expression of the variety: intense, fragrant, and engaging.

“Selida” is made from 100% Gewurztraminer grapes, sourced from terraced vineyards that have an altitude ranging from 300 to 500 meters above sea level. The soils are composed of clay, limestone, and gravel and feature very steep slopes that often make fieldwork difficult. During the harvest, which is strictly manual, a careful selection of the bunches, in order to transport to the winery only the best from their vineyards. The crushed grapes undergo a brief maceration phase in contact with their skins, after which they are pressed and sent to the fermentation phase in small steel containers. Inside these, maturation takes place for about 6 months.

Tramin Gewurztraminer “Selida” presents a straw yellow color, enhanced by some golden reflections. On the nose, it opens with floral hints of rose and lily, typical of the variety, along with notes of exotic fruit, sweet spices, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it confirms the character perceived on the nose and refreshes it with a lively acidity perfectly integrated with the other components. The aromatic intensity of this Gewurztraminer makes it a festive companion to the South Tyrolean gastronomic tradition.
