The Granato by Foradori is an iconic Italian red, the expressive pinnacle of Teroldego capable of virtuously defying time. Elisabetta Foradori is undoubtedly one of the most recognized faces in the wine world, also known as the woman of Teroldego, a title earned after decades where the enhancement of the Trentino grape variety has always been the primary goal to pursue, to the point of uprooting the previously present international grape varieties. The choice, which after years seems to have been at least right, has led her son Emilio, now at the helm of the family winery, to continue unwaveringly in this direction, continuing to favor local indigenous grape varieties, cultivated following the principles of biodynamics, and using Spanish amphorae during vinification. All wines are focused and territorial, endowed with increasing levels of depth depending on the type. A piece of past, present, and future history.
The Foradori Granato is the flagship wine of the winery, obtained from pure Teroldego grapes coming from vineyards over 70 years old.site in Noval, Regin, and Pedot, which rest on alluvial soils. In the vineyard, operations are carried out with vigilant care, observing without overpowering and following the principles of biodynamics in order to preserve the vitality of soil and plants. In the winery, spontaneous fermentations are carried out, and in the case of Granato, with skin maceration of 20-30 days. The liquid matures for 15 months in acacia barrels of 20-40 hl and 2 months in cement tanks before bottling.
The Granato wine presents itself in the glass with a bright and lively ruby hue. An authentic standout, capable of even improving with age, it immediately shows its character by offering an austere yet multifaceted profile where one can recognize currants, pomegranate, and graphite, along with an impressive layering. The sip is cohesive, powerful, and dense, driven by a beautifully crafted tannin, perfectly balanced by substance, salt, and freshness. Granato, granite-like.
