This Grechetto is a product with a slender and drinkable soul, perfect for being the daily companion of our tables. Omero Moretti, a winery located in the southern area of the Montefalco production zone, dedicates itself to this with commitment, highlighting its ecological sensitivity both in the vineyard, where treatments are kept to a minimum, and in the cellar, where fermentation arises from the presence of indigenous yeasts. A straightforward and genuine label, which during tasting offers a taste-olfactory background dominated by a savory component.
The white Grechetto comes from vines that are around twenty years old, cultivated within parcels characterized by a clayey and calcareous subsoil. Among the rows, the Omero Moretti winery follows organic farming practices, using few treatments based on copper and sulfur. The bunches, after harvesting, are taken to the facilities designated for winemaking to be destemmed. The must obtained from the pressing of the grapes ferments spontaneously thanks to the presence of autochthonous yeasts, in steel containers. It then continues with static decantation. The final aging phase always takes place in steel for a duration of a few months.
The Grechetto signed by the Omero Moretti winery presents itself visually with a light and not overly intense color, reminiscent of the hue of straw yellow. The combination of aromas that present themselves to the nose tells a story where white-fleshed fruit alternates with musky sensations and savory and briny notes. On the palate, it is light-bodied, harmonious, with a beautiful savory and fresh vein that becomes evident with each sip; it finishes with a finale characterized by a citrus aftertaste. An Umbrian white that is distinguished by its organic processing and that, among its many merits, also has the advantage of being offered at a highly convenient final price.
