LACRIMA DI MORRO D'ALBA 'RUBICO' MAROTTI CAMPI 2024 DESCRIPTION

The Lacrima di Morro d'Alba “Rubico” by Marotti Campi is the most fragrant version of this typical red wine from the Marche region. It is made with the intent to highlight especially the intense floral aromas and fruity and spicy aromaticity of this rare and ancient grape variety, cultivated practically only in the municipal territory of the village of Morro d'Alba. It is a true rarity, a small jewel to discover for its unique and unmistakable profile. Harmonious and seductive, it is a red suitable for those who love wines with a smooth sip, capable of providing immediate and satisfying pleasure.

“Rubico” is a Lacrima di Morro d'Alba made by Marotti Campi, one of the most important brands of Marche wine, which manages an estate of as much as 120 hectares, of which about half are dedicated to viticulture. The Lacrima vineyards are located in the hilly area surrounding Morro d'Alba and are cultivated at an altitude of 180 meters above sea level with a sunny exposure facing south and southeast. The soils are medium-textured, with a good percentage of clay, particularly suitable for red grape varieties. The harvest is carried out manually using small crates, around the middle of September. The bunches are sent for fermentation with 10% of the grapes undergoing carbonic maceration and the remaining 90% to traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature with skin maceration. The aging, which precedes bottling, takes place for a few months in steel tanks.

The red Lacrima di Morro d'Alba “Rubico” Marotti Campi is a young wine with a pleasantly aromatic and floral taste, suitable for pairing with white meats, roasted poultry or spit-roasted seasoned with spices. It presents itself with a bright robe of intense ruby red color with youthful violet reflections. The olfactory profile is intense and exuberant, with the characteristic aromas of rose petal, violet, myrtle berries, black currant, blueberry, wild blackberry, aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub, soft oriental spices, cinnamon and cloves. Of medium structure, it has a harmonious and pleasantly soft sip, fruity and juicy, rich and aromatic, with a fine and delicate tannic texture, a pleasantly fresh finish and good taste persistence.
