Lambrusco di Sorbara 'Quercioli' Ermete Medici

The Lambrusco Quercioli of Ermete Medici is a selection of the clearest and finest of Lambrusco, that of Sorbara. Grown in the north of Modena, these grapes give life to a lively wine that's easy and pleasant to drink. On the nose the notes of violet and blueberries follow one another and on the palate emerges great freshness, then the pleasantly dry finish. A high level expression of this typology of wine

LAMBRUSCO DI SORBARA 'QUERCIOLI' ERMETE MEDICI DESCRIPTION

The Lambrusco di Sorbara “Quercioli” produced by Ermete Medici is a wine of the territory and a remarkable expression of the type it represents. With a winemaking experience that has reached its fifth generation today, the Medici family manages five different estates in the areas of Modena and Reggio Emilia, all operated under certified organic farming. The visceral connection to their land has allowed this winery to become a flagship of local winemaking traditions and to export worldwide a new way of understanding Lambrusco.

The Lambrusco di Sorbara “Quercioli” is made by the Ermete Medici winery with the homonymous variety in purity. The grapes come from vineyards located in the northern part of the province of Modena, in the high plain area between the Secchia and Panaro rivers, where the soil has predominantly clay characteristics and the microclimate is marked by significant seasonal variations between summer and winter, not sparing fogs or even snowfalls. The Sorbara appears as the most original within the numerous family of Lambruschi, considering its remarkable proximity to the original wild Vitis Vinifera: its flowers are indeed physiologically female and require a pollinator, unlike all other known grape varieties that are hermaphroditic. The grapes, generally earlier than other varieties, are harvested towards the end of September and vinified in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The secondary fermentation occurs directly in the bottle, according to the ancestral method, and the wine retains a pleasant residual sugar of 12 grams per liter, while remaining dry on the palate.

The Lambrusco di Sorbara “Quercioli” vinified by Ermete Medici presents the graceful appearance typical of this variety: a lively light red color, almost more comparable to a particularly deep rosé. The immediate aromas are pleasant and lively: the fruity notes, which include all the berries and the crunchy apple, blend with floral hints of violet, with touches of orange and pomegranate. The sip is well-paced: a
