Hervé Villemade's 'Le Litre Bovin' Red is a pure Gamay, obtained through semi-carbonic maceration, which preserves its aromatic dynamism. The colourful label echoes a tradition of French delicatessens in the 1960s, which labelled bulk wine in one-litre bottles with their own name. The nose is an explosion of crisp red fruit with a slight hint of musk on the finish. On the palate, it is soft and fresh: a wine 'to drink in one go', as the label says. Perfect for afternoon tea paired with a platter of cold cuts and fresh cheeses, or with grilled vegetables
Dull ruby red
Fragrant hints of red fruit such as raspberry, currant and pomegranate, with subtle earthy notes
Smooth and easy to drink, soft and pleasantly fresh
