'Lo Straniero' Val delle Corti is a red wine from Radda in Chianti that pays homage to a French grape variety which, nevertheless, produces excellent results in Tuscany: Merlot. Blended with Sangiovese, it brings a soft, warm touch to the glass, whilst retaining the typical structure of local reds. Ageing is lengthy but takes place exclusively in steel, to accentuate the grapes’ fruity character and their natural freshness. On the nose, red and dark fruits are evident, giving way to black pepper on the finish. On the palate, it is round and immediate, with gentle tannins and a pleasant juiciness. A red to pair with everyday Tuscan cuisine, such as pappardelle with wild boar ragù
Ruby red with purple hues
Harmonious, with fresh notes of cherry, followed by blackberry and violet, and a finish rich in black pepper
Round, smooth and wonderfully fresh, with subtle tannins giving way to a savoury finish
