LUMERA' DONNAFUGATA 2025 DESCRIPTION

The “Lumera” by Donnafugata is an elegant, fine, and delicate blend given by the union of three grape varieties that, due to their history, tradition, and quality, we can rightly place in the Olympus of viticulture: Syrah and the indigenous Nero d’Avola and Nocera. With the first bottle born in 2013, the label depicts a girl's face that winks with a smile and presents a thick mane rich in flowers. A protagonist of a Sicilian poem that celebrates courtly love, this woman represents the joy of living and the search for happiness, a feeling experienced while sipping “Lumera”.

Located in southeastern Sicily, at the Tenuta di Contessa Entellina of Donnafugata, the vineyards of “Lumera” take root in clayey-sandy soils with a low percentage of limestone. Being a blend of 3 different grape varieties, to best extract the characteristics and peculiarities of each of these varieties, the golden rule is respect for time and patience. Of a brilliant pink, “Lumera” Donnafugata opens on the nose with a finesse and delicacy that immediately brings to mind the sensual and graceful girl depicted on the label. Small berries like raspberry and crunchy notes of pomegranate are complemented by the floral harmony of violet and rose. A slightly savory palate and vibrant freshness, “Lumera” has the extraordinary quality of having integrated 3 historically complex grape varieties into a union of fragrances and flavors referable to a land unique in its kind: Sicily.
