Malvasia Dario Coos 2024

The Malvasia by Dario Coos is one of those white wines that arises from the indissoluble bond between varietal and terroir, enriched by the artisanal savoir-faire of a winery that has always been attentive to enhancing the combination of grape and territory. A bottle in which freshness and aromaticity outline its main characteristics, ideal for accompanying appetizers, soups, and first courses based on fish and vegetables. A label where aromas and flavors unite in a single soul, capable of expressing the potential of a DOC among the most important in the entire region.  

The Malvasia is produced by the Dario Coos winery from different plots of land located within the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The Malvasia Istriana grows in steep soils, with a particular planting density, characterized by a subsoil of Eocene marl – the classic Friulian “ponca”. The must obtained after gently pressing the grapes ferments in stainless steel tanks, where the temperature is kept under control. The final aging phase takes place on fine lees in steel for 6 months. 

The Malvasia signed by the Dario Coos winery presents itself to the eye with a typically straw-yellow color, endowed with good intensity. The yellow-fleshed fruit, not yet ripe, offers itself to the nose with enveloping notes, from which more floral hints and mineral effluvia emerge that recall flint. On the palate, it enters with a dry, full, and enveloping sip, decidedly harmonious in its overall development.  It closes with a slightly warm finish in the mouth. A bottle that examines a grape variety, the Malvasia, which has managed to find in Friuli Venezia Giulia a land where it can give its best.
