Velenosi's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 'Prope' is a fresh but intense red that reveals aromas of red fruits and intriguing tertiary notes. The passage in large barrels for a year rounds off the sip, which becomes enveloping without skimping on structure. The palate is very juicy, with great fruit and a well-integrated tannic component. Definitely excellent with succulent red meat dishes
Intense, almost impenetrable ruby red
Enveloping bouquet with notes of morello cherry, kirsch, blackberry, then hints of wet earth, tertiary hints of coffee powder, tobacco and liquorice
Full and intense, with well-defined round tannins, juicy finish with excellent persistence
