MONTEPULCIANO D'ABRUZZO 'TRALCETTO' ZACCAGNINI 2023 DESCRIPTION

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo "Tralcetto" is the simplest and most fragrant version of Montepulciano from the Zaccagnini winery. Vinification exclusively in steel, without the use of wood, and a shorter maceration period result in a medium-bodied wine that is immediately pleasant to drink. The main characteristics on the palate are aromas of red fruit and hints of spice, with a fresh finish. It is a perfect wine to pair with the flavourful first courses of Abruzzo cuisine and, more generally, with pasta dishes with meat or game ragù.

Zaccagnini "Tralcetto" is a typical Abruzzo red wine in its youngest, most carefree and least demanding version. The everyday wine of yesteryear revisited according to modern oenological standards, which allow for elegant and highly drinkable reds. The grapes come from vineyards cultivated in the Pescara hinterland, a few kilometres from the coast, in Bolognano, a beautiful hilly area with a mild and temperate microclimate, which allows the grapes to ripen perfectly. Once the harvest is complete, the Montepulciano grapes are taken to the winery and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with submerged cap maceration. It matures for several months in steel before being bottled.

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo "Tralcetto" is the label that best represents the tradition and most popular vocation of Montepulciano. It is a pleasantly fruity wine with a smooth, pleasant and satisfying taste. The colour is ruby red with light violet reflections. The nose reveals aromas of cherry, black cherry, plum, red fruit and delicate spicy nuances. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with a beautiful tannic texture, rich, crisp fruit and a finish of good freshness and persistence.

Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
