MONTEPULCIANO D'ABRUZZO RISERVA 'BELLOVEDERE' LA VALENTINA 2020 DESCRIPTION

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva 'Bellovedere' La Valentina is an intriguing cru of the principal wine of Abruzzo. A great expression of the micro terroir of the single vineyard from which it comes, it is a bottle produced only in the best vintages, when climatic and ripening conditions guarantee the achievement of the highest qualitative result. A label rich in structure and complexity, whose aromas encapsulate the history of an ancient wine-growing territory.

The uniqueness of La Valentina "Bellovedere" is due to the origin of the grapes 100% Trebbiano d'Abruzzo from a single small vineyard of 2 hectares, located in the Spoltore area, on soils that are predominantly clayey at about 200 meters above sea level, facing south. The average age of the vines is about 40 years, cultivated with the traditional Abruzzese pergola system. The winemaking process involves fermentation and maceration in open conical oak vats from Slavonia, followed by aging divided between barriques and tonneaux for about 18months. The prolonged stay in wood and the lack of filtration favor a harmonious fusion of varietal aromas with those derived from aging.

This Riserva from La Valentina, with its dark red color, dense, with purplish hues, surprises with its majestic aromas of candied fruit, blackberry, and plum. A surprising olfactory power, culminating in notes of toasted coffee. On the palate, its great structure and firm body balance with freshness and lively tannins. A balsamic touch leaves the palate with elegance and cleanliness. An excellent pairing with complex preparations and dishes based on red meat, long-aged cheeses. To be tried with dark chocolate, for a moment of guaranteed pleasure and relaxation.
